Participation of Seniors in the Olympic Games: is it Possible and Worth it?

The participation of SENIORS in the Olympics can be seen from at least three perspectives: as a Spectator, as a Volunteer, and even as an ATHLETE. Today we focus on the Athletes.

Participating in the OLYMPIC GAMES after the age of 60 is an ACHIEVEMENT in itself. Inspiring examples like Arthur von Pongrace (Austria, 1936, 72 years old); Oscar Swash (Sweden, 1920, 72 years old); Hiroshi Hoketsu (Japan, 2012, 71 years old); Lorna Johnstone (United Kingdom, 1972, 70 years old) and Galen Spencer (USA, 1904, 64 years old) demonstrate that Dedication and Passion can overcome Limits.
