DIA Internacional do LIVRO INFANTIL e JUVENIL – a Data  foi escolhida em Homenagem ao Nascimento do Escritor Dinamarquês HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, que nasceu em 2 de abril de 1805.

Andersen é conhecido por suas Famosas Histórias Infantis, como “O Patinho Feio”, “A Pequena Sereia”, “O Soldadinho de Chumbo” e “O Rei e a Rainha”.

O Dia Internacional do Livro Infantil e Juvenil foi estabelecido para celebrar não apenas o Trabalho de Andersen, mas também a importância da literatura para Crianças e Jovens em Todo o Mundo.

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH BOOK DAY – the date was chosen in honor of the birth of the Danish writer HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, who was born on April 2nd, 1805.

Andersen is known for his famous Children’s Stories, such as “The Ugly Duckling,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Steadfast Tin Soldier,” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”

International Children’s and Youth Book Day was established to celebrate not only Andersen’s work, but also the importance of literature for Children and Youth around the World.
