National Women’s Day: celebrated in various countries to recognize the achievements, struggles, and contributions of women to society. In Brazil, it is commemorated on April 30th, the foundation of the Feminist Republican Party in 1910. Although many associate International Women’s Day, March 8th, as the main date to honor women, today is an additional opportunity to reflect on gender issues and promote equality and female empowerment.

International Jazz Day: dedicated to the musical genre that originated in the USA in the late 19th century, with African and European influences. The date was proclaimed in 2012 by UNESCO as a way to recognize Jazz as a tool for promoting peace, dialogue, and cooperation. Jazz is a form of artistic expression that reflects cultural diversity, improvisation, creativity, and freedom of expression.

Railway Worker’s Day: dedicated to professionals working in the sector (engine drivers, conductors, operators, etc.) involved in the operation, maintenance, and construction of railways. In Brazil, the day is a tribute to Santos Dumont, who was born on 30/04/1899. Although known for his contributions to Aviation, he worked as an Apprentice in his father’s Railway Workshop in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo.

Blacksmith’s Day: honors professionals working with iron and metallurgy, an ancient and important skill in many cultures around the world.
