and Days of the GOALKEEPER, of INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, of Remembrance of the CHERNOBYL DISASTER, of the SHOESHINER, and of the LABOR JUDGE

National Day for Prevention and Combat of ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION: established by Law 10.439 of 2002 aims to raise awareness about the importance of diagnosing and treating the disease also known as High Blood Pressure (when there is an Elevation of Blood Pressure). Goalkeeper’s Day: tribute to “goalkeeper Manga” (Aílton Corrêa Arruda), one of the greatest goalkeepers in history, and also the birth date in 1943 of Paraguayan goalkeeper Héctor Baley “Gato”. It is recognition of the professional’s contribution.

Intellectual Property Day: established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) aims to celebrate and encourage creativity and innovation.

Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day: this is the day when, in 1986, the Chernobyl disaster occurred, one of the worst nuclear accidents in history.

Shoeshiner’s Day: despite the profession being in decline, it has a long history dating back to 1806. The profession had its heyday when shoes were preferably made of leather and required care to maintain appearance.
