Today, Tomorrow, Together. We Want and Can Help.
BIRTHDAY is a significant point in our JOURNEY, marking the memories we accumulate throughout LIFE. It can also symbolize the BEGINNING of a NEW CYCLE. We wish that this NEW PHASE be full of ACHIEVEMENTS, JOYS, and MEMORABLE Moments.

Today’s Birthdays: TADEU SCHMIDT (07/18/1974), Brazilian journalist and TV host, and NELSON MANDELA (07/18/1918), passed away at 95 years old (12/05/2013)
International Nelson Mandela Day: it is a tribute to the former president of South Africa and icon of the fight against Apartheid (a system of racial segregation that existed in South Africa from 1948 to 1994. This regime institutionalized racial discrimination and was characterized by policies that separated whites, blacks, and other ethnicities, limiting the rights of the non-white population and guaranteeing privileges to the white minority). It recognizes his contribution to the promotion of Peace, Democracy, Social Justice, and Human Rights. In November 2009, the United Nations General Assembly declared July 18, Mandela’s birthday, as International Nelson Mandela Day. The date also aims to encourage people to dedicate 67 minutes of their time (representing the 67 years Mandela dedicated to public service) to good deeds that positively impact the communities where they live.
Trovador Day: celebrated in honor of Brazilian popular poets and troubadours who keep alive the tradition of Cordel literature and trova, important forms of cultural and literary expression. The date was chosen to honor the birth of Luiz Otávio, the pseudonym of Gilson de Castro, one of the most important Brazilian troubadours, born on July 18, 1916.
