18 DE MARÇO: o BRASIL possui a segunda maior Comunidade Judaica da América Latina, com mais de 120.000 JUDEUS. Esses imigrantes começaram a chegar ao nosso país em 1810 e se distribuíram majoritariamente entre as regiões Nordeste, Sudeste e Sul.

A comemoração da data foi proposta por Marcelo Itagiba, ex-deputado federal do Rio de Janeiro, e foi oficializada após lei sancionada em 2009. A data é uma Homenagem ao dia da Reinauguração da Primeira SINAGOGA das AMÉRICAS, a Sinagoga KAHAL ZUR ISRAEL (Comunidade Rochedo de Israel), que ocorreu em 18 de março de 2002.

March 18th: Brazil has the second largest Jewish Community in Latin America, with over 120,000 Jews. These immigrants began arriving in our country in 1810 and spread mostly among the Northeast, Southeast, and South regions.

The celebration of the date was proposed by Marcelo Itagiba, former federal deputy of Rio de Janeiro, and was officially sanctioned after a law in 2009. The date is a tribute to the day of the Reinauguration of the First SYNAGOGUE in the AMERICAS, the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue (Rock of Israel Community), which occurred on March 18, 2002.

Já o DIA de DeMolay é uma data comemorativa para a Ordem DeMolay, uma Organização Juvenil ligada à MAÇONARIA, dedicada ao desenvolvimento Pessoal e Liderança de Jovens do sexo masculino, fornecendo oportunidades para Crescimento Pessoal, Cívico e Social.

O Dia é celebrado anualmente em Homenagem a Jacques DeMolay, que foi o último Grão-Mestre dos Cavaleiros Templários. Ele foi executado em 18 de março de 1314, e sua Coragem e Lealdade são valores que a Ordem DeMolay procura transmitir aos seus Membros. Durante o Dia de DeMolay, os Capítulos Locais da Ordem organizam Eventos e Atividades Especiais para destacar os seus Princípios e Ideais.

The Day of DeMolay is a commemorative date for the DeMolay Order, a youth organization linked to FREEMASONRY, dedicated to the Personal Development and Leadership of young males, providing opportunities for Personal, Civic, and Social Growth.

The Day is celebrated annually in Tribute to Jacques DeMolay, who was the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar. He was executed on March 18, 1314, and his Courage and Loyalty are values that the DeMolay Order seeks to transmit to its Members. During the Day of DeMolay, the Local Chapters of the Order organize Special Events and Activities to highlight their Principles and Ideals.
