HEALTH and Quality of Life After 60: Resilience and Mental Health, the Importance of Caring for Emotions in Seniors Over 60.

Day of the Establishment of Women’s Voting Rights in BRAZIL: on November 3, 1930, provisional president Getúlio Vargas granted women the right to vote in BRAZIL. This date marks a historic moment of formal recognition of women’s political rights, representing a significant advance in the fight for gender equality in the country. Women’s voting rights were officially regulated with the Electoral Code of 1932 and consolidated in the 1934 Constitution. This day serves as an important milestone for reflecting on the rights that have been won and the challenges that women still face in the Brazilian political landscape.

Resilience is the ability to face and overcome difficulties, and it is essential for maintaining mental health at all stages of life, especially in old age. After the age of 60, we experience significant changes: retirement, children leaving home, potential losses of friends and family, as well as the natural physical changes of aging. These emotional challenges can impact quality of life, making it important to develop resilience and care for mental health.

How to Address These Emotional Challenges:

a) Reducing Stress – reducing stress in the face of adverse situations helps you feel more emotionally prepared.

b) Physical Well-being – studies show that mental health is directly linked to physical health. Less stress means a healthier heart, a stronger immune system, and lower risk of chronic diseases.

c) Strengthening Relationships – building and maintaining good relationships with family and friends, as well as making new friendships, helps keep you emotionally healthy.
