O dia 29 DE FEVEREIRO é uma data especial que ocorre apenas a cada quatro anos (ano bissexto). Um ANO BISSEXTO é aquele que é divisível por 4, exceto quando o ano é divisível por 100, a menos que também seja divisível por 400. Isso é feito para corrigir uma pequena discrepância (6 horas) entre o CALENDÁRIO GREGORIANO (mais usado) e o ANO SOLAR. Em síntese, o dia foi adicionado ao calendário para manter os eventos astronômicos, como as estações do ano, mais alinhados com o nosso sistema de calendário.

FEBRUARY 29TH is a special date that occurs only once every four years (leap year). A leap year is one that is divisible by 4, except when the year is divisible by 100, unless it is also divisible by 400. This is done to correct a small discrepancy (6 hours) between the Gregorian Calendar (most used) and the Solar Year. In summary, the day was added to the calendar to keep astronomical events, such as the seasons, more aligned with our calendar system.
