DIA NACIONAL DO IMIGRANTE ITALIANO: no BRASIL é celebrado hoje. Essa data foi escolhida em homenagem à chegada do navio a vapor “La Sofia” ao porto de São Paulo, em 21 de fevereiro de 1874, que trouxe a primeira leva significativa de imigrantes italianos ao país.

NATIONAL ITALIAN IMMIGRANT DAY: in BRAZIL is celebrated today. This date was chosen in honor of the arrival of the steamship “La Sofia” at the port of São Paulo on February 21, 1874, which brought the first significant wave of Italian immigrants to the country.

IMIGRAÇÃO ITALIANA: teve impacto na formação cultural, econômica e social do nosso país. Entre o final do século XIX e o início do século XX, milhões de italianos deixaram sua terra natal em busca de melhores condições de vida, escapando da pobreza, da falta de oportunidades e dos conflitos políticos na Itália da época. Esses imigrantes italianos contribuíram para o desenvolvimento de várias regiões do BRASIL, particularmente no Sul, onde muitos se estabeleceram como agricultores, ajudando a impulsionar a produção agrícola. Além disso, eles também deixaram sua marca na cultura brasileira, influenciando a culinária, a arquitetura e a música, dentre outros aspectos.

ITALIAN IMMIGRATION: had an impact on the cultural, economic, and social formation of our country. Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, millions of Italians left their homeland in search of better living conditions, escaping poverty, lack of opportunities, and political conflicts in Italy at the time. These Italian immigrants contributed to the development of various regions of BRAZIL, particularly in the South, where many settled as farmers, helping to boost agricultural production. Additionally, they also left their mark on Brazilian culture, influencing cuisine, architecture, and music, among other aspects.

O Dia Nacional do Imigrante Italiano é uma oportunidade para reconhecer e celebrar a contribuição desses imigrantes para a construção e diversidade cultural do BRASIL.

The National Italian Immigrant Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contribution of these immigrants to the construction and cultural diversity of BRAZIL.
