National Miner’s Day: this day recognizes and honors the work of professionals dedicated to the extraction of minerals, precious stones, and other natural resources from the subsoil. Mining is an activity that, despite its difficulties and risks, contributes to the economy of various regions in our country, especially the Amazon. This practice has deep roots in the history of Brazil, dating back to Colonial times when the discovery of gold and precious stones in Minas Gerais and other regions spurred colonization and development. The date was established by Law 11.685 on June 2, 2008.

National Ballroom Dancer’s Day: ballroom dancing has a long history in Brazil, influenced by various cultures that contributed to the development of different dance styles, such as Samba de Gafieira and Forró. The celebration of this day is a way to recognize the dedication and talent of ballroom dancers, as well as to promote this art as an important cultural expression. The date was established by a bill in the Official Events Calendar of the City of Rio de Janeiro in 2002.
