DIA Mundial da Conscientização da EPILEPSIA (Dia Roxo): celebrado em 26 de março. Esta data foi escolhida pela International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) e pela International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) para aumentar a conscientização sobre a epilepsia em todo o mundo.

A Epilepsia é uma condição neurológica que afeta o sistema nervoso central e é caracterizada por convulsões recorrentes. É uma das condições neurológicas mais Comuns em todo o Mundo, afetando pessoas de todas as idades, origens étnicas e condições socioeconômicas.

Já a denominação Purple Day (Dia Roxo) foi criado em 2008, por Cassidy Megan, uma criança canadense, então com 9 anos de idade. Cassidy escolheu a cor roxa para representar a epilepsia por remeter à flor da lavanda. Associada à solidão, a flor simboliza o sentimento de isolamento em que muitas pessoas com epilepsia vivem.

The term Purple Day was created in 2008 by Cassidy Megan, a 9-year-old Canadian child. Cassidy chose the color purple to represent epilepsy because it resembles the lavender flower. Associated with loneliness, the flower symbolizes the feeling of isolation that many people with epilepsy experience.

A fundação de Porto Alegre está associada à construção do primeiro porto da região às margens do Rio Guaíba, que servia como ponto de apoio para as atividades comerciais e para o escoamento da produção agrícola e pecuária da região.

Em 26 de março de 1772, o Capitão-tenente Henrique José Botelho desembarcou no local onde hoje se situa o Centro Histórico de Porto Alegre e estabeleceu as bases para a formação da cidade. A partir de então, a região começou a se desenvolver gradualmente, crescendo em importância econômica, política e cultural ao longo dos anos.

Porto Alegre é uma das cidades mais importantes do Sul do BRASIL. Sua história está intimamente ligada à colonização portuguesa, à presença indígena e ao legado dos povos afro-brasileiros. A cidade também desempenhou papel Importante em diversos momentos históricos brasileiros, como na Revolução Farroupilha e na formação do Estado Novo.
