Day of the Indigenous Peoples (Indigenous Peoples Day) and Brazilian Army Day
ANNIVERSARY of our Colleague JOÃO VICENTE from CEP 81
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY: celebrates the Cultural Diversity of Indigenous Peoples and seeks to Contribute to the Preservation of the Culture and History of these Peoples. It is a good time for Reflection against Prejudice against Indigenous Peoples and for the Maintenance of their rights.
It is a commemorative date created during the New State, in 1943, under the name Dia do Índio and the change in name occurred in a law sanctioned in 2022. The origin of the Date is due to an Event in Defense of Indigenous Peoples in Mexico in 1940.
BRAZILIAN ARMY DAY: is a day in homage to one of the three Forces (along with the Air Force and Navy) that make up the ARMED FORCES OF BRAZIL. Celebrated on April 19 in consideration of the First Battle of Guararapes, in 1648, which is understood as the emergence of a Defense Force for BRAZIL.
In addition to honoring the Brazilian Army, the date highlights the importance that this Institution has in the Defense of National Territory, in the Maintenance of Order, and in the Defense of Constitutional Principles.
