DAY of PORTUGAL, of CAMÕES and of the PORTUGUESE COMMUNITIES: celebrated on June 10th, the day when the death of Luiz Vaz de Camões is remembered. Author of memorable works like “The Lusiads,” Luis de Camões is considered one of the greatest poets in Lusitanian history. In 2003, the Commission of Constitution and Justice and Citizenship approved a bill instituting the date as the Day of Portuguese Immigration in BRAZIL.
ARTILLERY DAY: June 10th, honors Marshal Emilio Mallet on his Birthday. Known as the Baron of Itapevi, he is considered the Patron of Artillery in BRAZIL. The date remembers the Artillerymen, whose mission is to contribute to National Sovereignty.
