International Day of the Young Worker, World Corn Day, World Veterinary Medicine Day and National Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) Day

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE YOUNG WORKER: its origin dates back to international initiatives to promote the Rights of Young Workers and raise awareness about the issues they face when entering the labor market.

WORLD CORN DAY: corn is one of the oldest crops and still plays an important role in human nutrition today. It is a source of carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and fiber and is used as feed for animals. The origin of the date is related to planting in some regions of the northern hemisphere.

WORLD VETERINARY MEDICINE DAY: veterinarians work in the treatment of pets, production animals (cattle, poultry, and swine), wild animals, as well as in areas such as public health, food inspection, zoonotic disease control, biomedical research, and wildlife conservation. The day is celebrated in honor of the founding of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) on April 24, 1863.

NATIONAL BRAZILIAN SIGN LANGUAGE DAY: Libras plays a relevant role in the communication of deaf people, allowing them to express thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a natural and effective way. The date commemorates the recognition of Libras as a legal means of communication on 24/04/2002.
